Thank you for your interest in reaching out to those involved and / or trapped in the sex industry. Regardless of your ability to commit to any area of this ministry at this time, please put us on your prayer list! As you become more educated on this industry, you may feel an overwhelming sense that this is just too big of a problem to solve. Luckily, it is not by our will or might. Our assurance comes from knowing that nothing is impossible for our God! (Luke 18:27).

Helping Hands

Changing Destinies Helping Hands
CDM's HELPING HANDS PROGRAM

The sex industry is a cruel master. Sometimes people are forced or tricked by a calculated, manipulative trafficker. Some, such as those who work in strip clubs specifically, many enter in of their own free will and not have a pimp controlling them or their money.

Regardless of their reason for working in the sex industry, it’s an industry that exploits past hurts like physical, emotional, and / or sexual abuse as a child; being made fun of or bullied; knowing poverty; or having low self-esteem and craving attention and acceptance. Once in, exiting out is challenging. The pull to stay is very strong. Many come back even after leaving the industry because the money was good and other pursuits didn’t pan out.

The problem with clinging to this industry is that it has no benefits. There is no security, insurance, upward mobility, or workers compensation. It’s an industry where men and women will one day ‘age out’ and be thrown away like a piece of trash.

We want to connect the visions and dreams of those who are genuinely trying to exit the sex industry with a team of Christian mentors, advisors, business owners, referral agents, financiers, career counselors, and sponsors who will guide and assist them as they realize their God-inspired dreams and talents. We feel the next step would be to bolster their vision. We want to be able to demonstrate that an initial pay cut might be worth exploring if there is something that shows promise as a career. We want to monopolize on their dreams and talents that maybe they haven’t explored yet out of fear or failure in the past. We hope to inspire and support those who want to get out, but don’t have the vision or ability to chase their dream.

The program is still in its infancy stage and still has a lot of room for growth. If you have ideas that you would like to share with us, feel free to contact us. If you are interested in being involved, please review criteria under Volunteer Criteria and fill out Volunteer Application.
